The commander of the Bahrain National Guard engaged in high-level discussions with Pakistan’s senior military officials on Tuesday, focusing on regional security challenges and expanding bilateral collaboration in defense technology, joint exercises, and maritime security.

General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa held separate meetings in Rawalpindi and Islamabad with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Defense Forces, along with the chiefs of Pakistan’s navy and air force.

This significant visit aligns with Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen military-to-military relations and promote its indigenous defense products among traditional Gulf allies.

At the Army General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, Field Marshal Munir and General Al Khalifa reviewed the current regional security landscape and explored opportunities to enhance defense cooperation. Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the enduring bilateral relationship.

Meanwhile, at the Air Headquarters, discussions centered on rapid advancements in modern warfare technologies. Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu updated the Bahraini commander on the Pakistan Air Force’s ongoing modernization initiatives.

The talks emphasized emerging technologies such as drone integration, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, advanced digital sensors, digital innovation, integrated air defense frameworks, as well as reforms in joint training and technical capacity-building programs.

In a separate meeting at Naval Headquarters, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf addressed maritime security issues in the Arabian Sea and the broader Indian Ocean region. General Al Khalifa praised the Pakistan Navy’s efforts in securing vital trade routes and fostering cooperative maritime security measures.

Pakistan and Bahrain share a longstanding history of close security cooperation. Pakistan’s armed forces have consistently provided training, technical support, and security assistance to Bahrain and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

Military officials from both nations highlighted that Tuesday’s discussions are expected to lay the groundwork for structured collaboration in defense indigenization and electronic warfare systems, further strengthening their strategic partnership.
