The Balochistan government has condemned the recent attack on a female doctor, describing the incident as deeply regrettable. Provincial officials have assured that comprehensive steps are underway to deliver justice and provide the best medical care to those affected.

Shahid Rind, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, confirmed that Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, along with the Health Secretary and senior officials, have taken the matter very seriously. He emphasized the administration’s firm commitment to addressing the case with the highest priority.

In a significant development, the suspect involved in the assault has been apprehended, marking the government’s primary focus on swift action. Mr. Rind also revealed that the provincial authorities are ready to arrange advanced medical treatment abroad for both the assaulted female doctor and the young man who bravely intervened to save her, if required.

The government has accepted all demands made by the doctor’s family to ensure their concerns are fully addressed. Additionally, the administration praised the courageous efforts of the young rescuer, highlighting his vital role in preventing further harm during the attack.

Meanwhile, the Young Doctors Association (YDA) of Balochistan has continued its strike for the second day, suspending all medical services except emergency procedures across government hospitals in the province. This ongoing boycott has caused significant difficulties for patients undergoing treatment and those seeking routine medical care.

The YDA is calling for the immediate removal of the Health Secretary, the Medical Superintendent, and the Security In-Charge of Civil Hospital Quetta. The association also demands the establishment of a judicial commission to conduct a transparent investigation into the assault, stressing the urgent need for effective measures to guarantee doctors’ safety within hospital premises.
