PTI Rejects Gilgit-Baltistan Election Results, Demands Forms 45 and 46 Release

GILGIT: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has dismissed the results of the Gilgit-Baltistan elections, accusing authorities of widespread rigging and manipulation aimed at altering the final outcome. The party condemned what it described as blatant misuse of state resources, asserting that its candidates were leading clearly until 7 pm, as stated by its spokesperson.

PTI raised concerns over sudden, unexpected results from multiple polling stations, alongside reports of voter turnout exceeding 80 percent in some areas, which the party found suspicious. It further alleged that between 700 and 800 votes were recovered from a single ballot box, demanding an immediate and transparent inquiry into these irregularities.

In addition, PTI claimed that counterfeit ballot papers were discovered in Nagar and other locations, with individuals associated with rival factions caught in possession of fake ballots. The party also accused officials of tampering with voter lists by inserting multiple entries and manipulating polling arrangements through police and administrative influence.

PTI reported harassment of its candidates and workers throughout the election process. It accused the government of attempting to “steal the mandate” by manipulating Form 47 and vowed to prevent any undermining of the public’s electoral will.

The party has called for the immediate release of verified results from all polling stations and the provision of Forms 45 and 46 to all candidates. It urged the Election Commission to take urgent measures to ensure transparency and reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the votes of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan at all costs.
