GILGIT: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Secretary General Nayyar Bukhari has raised concerns over the non-provision of Form 45 to party representatives following the conclusion of vote counting in multiple constituencies of Gilgit-Baltistan.
Addressing the media, Bukhari stated that PPP workers were barred from accessing Form 45 and were asked to vacate the premises once polling ended. He mentioned having reached out to the Chief Election Commissioner to report the issue and request prompt action.
While he acknowledged that the election process was generally peaceful, Bukhari warned against any developments that might incite unrest. He emphasized the importance of the Election Commission fulfilling its responsibility to ensure transparency and the timely distribution of election result documents.
In a significant development, Chief Election Commissioner Raja Shahbaz Khan confirmed that polling across Gilgit-Baltistan proceeded peacefully under stringent security measures. He highlighted the deployment of over 15,000 security personnel to uphold law and order during the elections.
Notably, the Chief Election Commissioner also pointed out the robust voter turnout throughout the day, reflecting strong public engagement. He expressed gratitude to the voters for their participation in maintaining a peaceful electoral environment.
