In a significant development late Wednesday night, police in Rawalpindi’s Naseerabad neighborhood came under gunfire during an operation targeting suspected criminals. Three individuals riding motorcycles opened fire on law enforcement officers when they were stopped for questioning, prompting an exchange of gunfire.
During the confrontation, two members of the suspected robbery gang were injured and subsequently apprehended, while the third suspect managed to flee the scene. Authorities recovered a motorcycle and a mobile phone believed to have been forcibly taken from citizens at gunpoint during recent criminal activities.
Officials revealed that the arrested individuals are linked to numerous cases of robbery and vehicle theft across the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Dozens of criminal cases have already been registered against them, highlighting their involvement in ongoing criminal operations in the area.
Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) emphasized that those who attack citizens and law enforcement personnel will not evade justice. He assured the public that strict measures will be taken against such criminal elements to maintain law and order in the city.
