Capt (R) Safdar energized the PML-N’s election campaign in Gilgit-Baltistan by appearing in Hunza, rallying supporters with the slogan ‘7 June, Noon he Noon.’ He was accompanied by senior party leaders Khurram Dastagir and Abid Sher Ali, who encouraged voters to back PML-N candidates and promised a fresh wave of development initiatives for the area.

Addressing party workers, Safdar, husband of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, urged the public to unite behind the party in the upcoming June 7 elections. He reaffirmed PML-N’s dedication to serving Gilgit-Baltistan despite the political obstacles the party has faced over the years.

Safdar highlighted that Nawaz Sharif’s efforts to implement his development agenda were repeatedly hindered by political conspiracies, which stalled several major national projects that could have transformed the country. He emphasized the party’s vision of turning Gilgit-Baltistan into a vital trade corridor connecting Pakistan and China, alongside expanding educational opportunities in the region.

He also outlined plans for establishing higher education institutions and launching welfare programs aimed at raising living standards. Safdar assured supporters that PML-N would remain committed to Gilgit-Baltistan’s progress regardless of political challenges.

Concluding the event, party leaders called on voters to support PML-N candidates in the June 7 elections, with Safdar confidently stating, “June 7 will belong to the PML-N.”

In a significant development, former federal minister Khurram Dastagir praised Nawaz Sharif for strengthening Pakistan’s security and economy. He noted that Gilgit-Baltistan had benefited from policies introduced during Nawaz Sharif’s previous administrations and credited strong national leadership with protecting strategic regions like Gilgit-Baltistan.

Meanwhile, Abid Sher Ali, visiting Hunza for the first time, appealed to voters to choose PML-N if they desired development and prosperity akin to Punjab’s progress. He urged, “If you want Nawaz Sharif’s vision for Hunza, then vote for the lion,” emphasizing Nawaz Sharif’s commitment to bringing similar economic growth and infrastructure improvements to Gilgit-Baltistan.

Ali highlighted that significant projects and relief efforts had been delivered under PML-N governments and pledged to tackle Hunza’s water shortages through new pipeline and infrastructure projects. He asserted that Nawaz Sharif has consistently practiced honest politics and fulfilled his promises to the people.
