In a significant development, Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, conducted a series of high-level meetings in Tehran on Saturday, engaging with Iran’s senior officials amid escalating US-Iran tensions.

During the visit, Munir met with Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, who emphasized that Tehran would firmly protect its national rights. Qalibaf highlighted that Iran’s armed forces had strengthened their capabilities during the ceasefire period and cautioned that any reckless attempt by the United States to reignite conflict would result in consequences far more severe and bitter.

Field Marshal Munir also held discussions with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The talks centered on promoting regional peace and stability, with a focus on reducing tensions arising from US and Israeli military activities in the region.

These diplomatic efforts by Islamabad aim to encourage dialogue and de-escalation amid the volatile geopolitical climate. Following the meetings, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir departed Tehran after engaging with Iran’s top leadership to advance these objectives.
