KP and Balochistan Relax Lockdown Restrictions Ahead of Eid ul Adha

Authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have announced significant easing of lockdown restrictions, permitting businesses and markets to operate without the previous limitations in the lead-up to Eid ul Adha.

In Peshawar, the smart lockdown that had been enforced in the city has been officially lifted, as stated in a public notice issued by the chief secretary. All restrictions concerning market and business operating hours have been removed, and fixed commercial timings have been abolished until further notice.

Despite the relaxation, the provincial government urged residents to continue conserving electricity by avoiding unnecessary power consumption as part of ongoing energy-saving efforts.

Meanwhile, the Balochistan Home Department declared similar relaxations across the province to coincide with the Eid ul Adha celebrations. The notification specifies that these eased measures will remain effective until June 1, allowing all shops, business centres, shopping malls, and markets to stay open throughout the province.

These provincial relaxations come after the federal government had earlier implemented lockdown measures nationwide under its energy conservation policy, aimed at reducing electricity usage across the country.
