SYLHET: Pakistan’s head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed announced that the playing XI for the upcoming second Test against Bangladesh in Sylhet will be finalized only after the toss. This decision comes as the team looks to bounce back following their defeat in the first Test.

On the eve of the match, Sarfaraz acknowledged the disappointment within the squad but highlighted that the overall atmosphere remains optimistic. He stated that the team has moved past the previous loss and is fully focused on delivering a strong comeback in the second Test.

Addressing concerns about the weather, Sarfaraz noted that while conditions are beyond their control, the team is prepared to adapt and play quality cricket regardless of the circumstances. He expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to perform well.

Notably, Sarfaraz praised Babar Azam’s recent form, pointing out the batter’s impressive performances in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He remarked that Babar appears to have improved both technically and mentally, which bodes well for the team.

Responding to criticism from former players, Sarfaraz dismissed it as a familiar challenge that comes with underperformance. He emphasized that the team is not overly concerned with social media commentary and remains focused on their game.

He further stressed the importance of maintaining discipline with both bat and ball in the demanding format of Test cricket. Sarfaraz concluded by expressing hope that his captain and the team will deliver a commanding performance in the upcoming match.
