Renowned singer Rod Stewart lauded King Charles III during the fifth anniversary celebration of The King’s Trust held on Wednesday, applauding the monarch’s conduct during his recent visit to the United States.
At the charity event in the US, Stewart met the British king and seemingly took a jab at former US President Donald Trump, remarking, “May I say, well done in the Americas. You were superb. Absolutely superb. You put that little ratbag in his place.”
A video circulating online captured the two exchanging handshakes and brief comments in front of the event’s attendees.
In a significant development, King Charles III and Queen Camilla undertook a four-day state visit to the US last week, marking an important diplomatic occasion despite ongoing disagreements between the two nations over the Iran conflict. During their stay, they received a warm welcome from then-President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump in Washington.
The visit also coincided with the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence and represented the first trip to the US by a British monarch in two decades.
