HEC launches fully online, paperless degree attestation system from May 11

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced a significant overhaul of its Degree Attestation System (DAS), transitioning to a fully online and paperless platform. This initiative, revealed by HEC Chairman Niaz Ahmad Akhtar on Monday, aims to streamline and modernize the verification process for students and graduates nationwide.

Akhtar highlighted that the new system eliminates the traditional requirement for applicants to visit HEC offices in person or submit original documents physically. Instead, the entire procedure has been digitized to improve convenience and accessibility for all users.

In a notable development, the newly introduced “e-Attestation Certificate System” promises a secure, efficient, and user-friendly experience. It will enable online verification of attested documents and certificates across all relevant educational institutions, ensuring authenticity and ease of access.

The commission confirmed that this upgraded online DAS will officially launch and become operational starting May 11. Comprehensive information and guidelines will be made available on the HEC’s official website to assist applicants in navigating the new process.

Meanwhile, it was revealed in April that the HEC had been preparing to implement a fully digital degree attestation system powered by blockchain technology. This platform, developed through a partnership with CMPak and its joint venture Wibbow Technologies, is designed to allow students and graduates to submit attestation requests and track their application status seamlessly.

This blockchain-enabled system is particularly beneficial for applicants residing outside major urban centers or those applying from abroad, providing a more accessible and transparent verification service.
