Marka-e-Haq Boosted Pakistan’s Global Standing, Ambassador Highlights

Pakistan’s international stature saw a significant rise following the Marka-e-Haq, or the battle of truth, which marked the country’s emergence as a key stabilizing force in the region after its victory over India. This conflict lasted 19 days, from April 22 to May 10, 2025. The hostilities began when India, on May 6-7 of the previous year, launched an attack on Islamabad after accusing Pakistan without evidence of involvement in an incident in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan responded decisively, delivering a blow to New Delhi’s aggression.

In an interview, the ambassador emphasized that Pakistan promptly called for an investigation into the Pahalgam incident, while India resorted to unsubstantiated accusations. Throughout the crisis, Pakistan exhibited political, diplomatic, and military maturity. The envoy remarked that although defense expenditures might be modest, the nation’s true strength lies in its unwavering resolve.

Notably, the ambassador acknowledged the active role played by then US President Donald Trump and his administration in facilitating peace efforts between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. He pointed out that India’s narrative had been weakened on the global stage, with Pakistan continuing to demand proof related to both the Pulwama and Pahalgam incidents.

Addressing the Indus Waters Treaty, the envoy stressed that suspending the agreement was not an option, warning that weaponizing water resources would violate international law. He further highlighted the necessity of bolstering Pakistan’s economy alongside its defense capabilities to ensure comprehensive national strength.

Earlier, during a grand ceremony at the Pakistan Embassy in Washington, Ambassador Sheikh underscored the importance of Marka-e-Haq and the united determination shown by the Pakistani people. He stressed that Pakistan’s strategic relevance, resilience, and commitment to fostering regional and global peace continue to grow stronger.

“Our unity is our strength, demonstrated clearly during the May 2025 conflict. The nation stood firmly with its leadership and brave armed forces to thwart the enemy’s malicious plans,” the ambassador stated. He described the victory as a collective achievement led by the country’s civil-military and diplomatic leadership, emphasizing that Pakistan’s pursuit of peace should never be mistaken for weakness.

The ambassador also praised the constructive role of US President Donald Trump in supporting ceasefire initiatives. Looking ahead, he linked national defense with economic sovereignty, noting that the vision of Bunyan-um-Marsoos would be fully realized in non-military domains once Pakistan attains economic stability and prosperity.

He called upon the Pakistani American community to enhance their crucial role in strengthening ties between Pakistan and the United States. The evening’s event featured a documentary highlighting the nation’s defense efforts and live performances of patriotic songs, energizing attendees who enthusiastically chanted slogans of “Pakistan Hamesha Zindabad.”

The ceremony concluded with a renewed pledge of unity, progress, and shared responsibility to build a stronger, more prosperous Pakistan.
