The federal government took a significant step on Wednesday by providing financial assistance to those affected by the tragic gas pipeline explosion in Hattar, which resulted in a devastating fire. This disaster claimed several lives and left many injured, prompting the government to extend relief funds to the victims and their families.

During a formal cheque distribution event held at the Deputy Commissioner Office in Haripur, families of the deceased were each awarded Rs2 million as compensation. Meanwhile, individuals who sustained injuries in the incident received Rs0.1 million each. This gesture was aimed at offering some financial relief to those impacted by the calamity.

The ceremony was graced by prominent political figures, including PML-N central leader Captain (Rtrd) Safdar Awan and Haripur’s Member of National Assembly, Babar Nawaz Khan. Their presence underscored the importance of the government’s commitment to supporting the victims. Additionally, several members from both civil and political spheres attended, such as former provincial minister Asad Khan, former Tehsil Chairman Samiullah Khan, MPA Shazia Jadun, and PML-N District President Sahibzada Shah, among others.

In a solemn moment during the event, participants offered prayers for the martyrs of the Hattar tragedy, as well as for the peace, stability, and prosperity of the nation. This ceremony not only highlighted the government’s response to the disaster but also reflected a collective resolve to stand by the affected families during their time of hardship.
