A tragic incident unfolded in Sindh’s Shikarpur district when a station house officer (SHO) was fatally shot by a policeman who mistook his car for a threat near the Golo Daro area. The victim has been identified as SHO Ali Hassan of the Lakhi Ghulam Shah police station.

Senior Superintendent of Police Muhammad Kaleem stated that the SHO was driving his newly acquired private vehicle at approximately 5 a.m. when it came under gunfire. The Golo Daro police opened fire after deeming the car suspicious, leading to the fatal shooting.

Following the incident, the policeman responsible for the shooting was immediately taken into custody and placed under quarter guard as authorities launched a thorough investigation into the matter.

In a significant development, Sindh Inspector General Javed Alam Odho has taken notice of the case and requested a detailed report from Larkana DIG Nasir Aftab to ensure accountability and transparency.

This unfortunate event occurs just months after Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar announced a large-scale crackdown on dacoits in the Katcha riverine region. On January 7, Lanjar emphasized the government’s commitment to deploying all necessary resources to eradicate dacoits, promising ruthless action against notorious criminals with no exceptions.
