Pakistan Facilitates Iran-US Diplomatic Dialogue Amid Tensions

Pakistan is playing a crucial role in facilitating diplomatic communication between Iran and the United States, acting as an intermediary in efforts to reduce tensions, stated Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moqadam.

In comments made to Iranian media, the ambassador revealed that dialogue between Tehran and Washington continues through Pakistani diplomatic channels, with messages being exchanged as part of an ongoing negotiation process.

Moqadam characterized Pakistan’s involvement as both significant and constructive, emphasizing Islamabad’s responsibility in maintaining contact between the two nations during this sensitive period. He noted that Pakistan has been entrusted with delivering proposals and supporting dialogue aimed at de-escalating conflicts.

The ambassador further disclosed that Iran has provided Pakistan with a detailed plan designed to resolve current disputes and foster regional stability. This plan has already been forwarded to the United States through diplomatic avenues.

Notably, Moqadam stressed that the possibility of direct negotiations between Iran and the US hinges largely on a change in American policy. He reaffirmed Iran’s consistent stance, which prioritizes protecting its national interests and sovereign rights.

Although no formal breakthrough has yet been announced, the ongoing exchange of communications indicates that backchannel diplomacy remains active, with Pakistan continuing to serve as a vital conduit for dialogue between the two countries.
