Arid Agriculture University Closes Main Campus Until April 26 Amid Security Measures

The Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University (PMAS-AAUR) in Rawalpindi has announced the temporary closure of its main campus along with all affiliated institutes until April 26. This decision comes as part of enhanced security arrangements in the area, aiming to ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff.

In a significant development, the university’s Vice Chancellor, after consulting with deans and directors, issued an official notification outlining the closure. Despite the suspension of on-campus activities, academic programs will continue uninterrupted through online classes, adhering to the existing timetable to minimize disruption to students’ education.

Additionally, the university has instructed all students residing in hostels to vacate their accommodations immediately. This directive aligns with instructions from the local administration, emphasizing the importance of swift compliance. The sudden evacuation order has sparked concerns among students, particularly those who must quickly find alternative housing arrangements.

Meanwhile, all university employees, including officers, faculty members, and support staff, have been directed to work remotely during the closure period. However, personnel involved in essential services will maintain their duties on campus as necessary to support ongoing operations. This move reflects the institution’s efforts to balance security protocols with academic continuity and operational needs.
