Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed profound gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support in maintaining Pakistan’s economic stability during his meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) in Jeddah. The Crown Prince, who also serves as the Kingdom’s Prime Minister, welcomed Shehbaz for detailed discussions accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

The nearly two-hour meeting was marked by a warm and cordial atmosphere, focusing on the shifting regional dynamics and strengthening bilateral ties. PM Shehbaz conveyed Pakistan’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia amid recent regional tensions, emphasizing that the Pakistani people stand firmly alongside their Saudi counterparts. He also extended heartfelt condolences for the lives lost during the escalation.

Shehbaz commended the Kingdom’s exemplary patience and restraint, noting that the Crown Prince’s leadership throughout the crisis has been a beacon of strength for peace advocates both within Saudi Arabia and internationally. He also updated MBS on Pakistan’s recent peace initiatives, including the US-Iran ceasefire and the historic US-Iran talks held in Islamabad.

Highlighting the unique strategic partnership between the two nations, the Prime Minister referenced the Pakistan–Saudi Arabia Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement. He reiterated his appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s ongoing economic support, describing it as invaluable for Pakistan’s stability. The leaders exchanged views on mutual interests and reaffirmed their dedication to close cooperation moving forward.

Shehbaz arrived in Jeddah on an official visit accompanied by a high-level delegation. Upon arrival, they were welcomed by Prince Saud bin Mashaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq. The delegation also included Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi, and the Prime Minister’s spokesperson for foreign media Mosharraf Zaidi.
