Following one of the most significant achievements of his career, Michael B. Jordan is already setting his sights on his next venture. Just weeks after earning the Best Actor award at the 2026 Oscars, Jordan made his first public appearance at CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, where he introduced his upcoming major film, The Thomas Crown Affair.
On April 15, Jordan took the stage to present an exclusive first look at the highly anticipated movie, offering attendees a preview of his daring reinterpretation of the classic tale. The trailer showcased a sleek, high-stakes storyline centered around a billionaire tasked with recovering valuable artifacts that were unjustly taken from their original owners. Featuring stylish visuals and an international setting, the film promises a blend of suspense, romance, and surprising twists.
In a significant development for Jordan’s career, he not only stars in the film but also directs it, building on the momentum from his directorial debut with Creed III. That project was both a commercial hit and a cultural milestone, cementing his reputation as a filmmaker who skillfully balances action sequences with emotional storytelling.
The Thomas Crown Affair carries a notable legacy. The original 1968 version starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, while the 1999 remake featured Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. This new adaptation also boasts a strong ensemble cast, including Adria Arjona, Ruth Negga, Aubrey Plaza, Danai Gurira, Kenneth Branagh, Pilou Asbæk, Paapa Essiedu, and Lily Gladstone, adding considerable depth to the ambitious production.
Jordan’s CinemaCon appearance follows his Oscar-winning role in the 2025 vampire thriller Sinners, directed by longtime collaborator Ryan Coogler. The Thomas Crown Affair is scheduled for release in theaters on March 7, 2027.
