Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing tensions between the United States and Iran received notable recognition in the United Kingdom’s Parliament. A British legislator lauded Islamabad’s contribution to fostering peace and stability in the Middle East.

During the parliamentary session, Muhammad Afzal Khan emphasized Pakistan’s active involvement in the region, describing its role in de-escalating the conflict between Washington and Tehran as a demonstration of leadership focused on peacebuilding. He further questioned the British prime minister on the extent of the UK’s support for Pakistan’s diplomatic endeavors to secure lasting and sustainable peace in the area.

These remarks come amid heightened international attention on Pakistan’s mediation efforts, as tensions in the Middle East persist. Islamabad has increasingly emerged as a crucial intermediary, striving to facilitate dialogue between the two adversaries.

Discussions within the UK Parliament underscore the growing acknowledgment of Pakistan’s diplomatic influence on the global stage, particularly regarding its role in encouraging engagement between the United States and Iran.
