The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced an increase of Rs1.42 per unit in electricity tariffs across Pakistan, including Karachi, as part of the February 2026 monthly adjustment. This change will be reflected in consumers’ electricity bills for April and collected during the current billing cycle.
The tariff hike applies nationwide, covering customers of K-Electric as well, in accordance with government policy directives. Notably, lifeline consumers and electric vehicle charging stations have been exempted from this increase.
In a significant development, NEPRA finalized this decision after conducting a hearing on the February adjustment and issuing the official notification. This latest rise follows a similar adjustment in January, when electricity prices were increased by Rs1.63 per unit.
These consecutive tariff hikes add to the financial strain on consumers already facing escalating utility expenses. Monthly adjustments continue to cause fluctuations in electricity tariffs throughout the country, impacting household budgets and businesses alike.
