The Sindh government has initiated a comprehensive vaccination campaign across the province to safeguard livestock against seasonal illnesses in anticipation of the upcoming monsoon season. This effort, named the Pre-Monsoon Vaccination Program 2026–27, was officially launched on Monday at the Government Veterinary Hospital in Landhi by Muhammad Ali Malkani, Sindh’s Minister for Livestock and Fisheries.

During the inauguration, the minister highlighted that the campaign embodies the adage ‘prevention is better than cure’ and emphasized that its reach has been broadened to encompass the entire province. He assured that veterinary centers throughout Sindh are fully equipped, with ample vaccine stocks and all necessary preparations completed to ensure smooth implementation.

Malkani pointed out that Karachi hosts one of the largest cattle markets globally, urging livestock owners to utilize this vaccination opportunity to shield their animals from diseases. He stressed that healthy livestock not only benefits individual owners but also contributes to the overall prosperity of Sindh’s economy.

The minister further noted that despite limited resources, the Sindh government is committed to maximizing efforts for the economic advancement of the livestock sector and improving animal health. He also conveyed his understanding of the challenges faced by traders and farmers, promising that a sustainable solution will be developed soon through collaboration with all stakeholders involved.
