Three Pakistani nationals sustained injuries after debris from a projectile, intercepted by UAE air defence systems, fell at Khor Fakkan Port, officials confirmed. The incident triggered a fire at the port on Sunday, which emergency teams managed to control, with cooling operations still underway.

Among the injured, three Pakistanis suffered injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Additionally, a Nepalese national was seriously hurt and hospitalized. Authorities urged the public to depend on official information and refrain from spreading unverified reports.

In a significant development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep concern over the incident through a post on the social media platform X. He extended prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured and assured that Pakistan remains in close coordination with UAE authorities to provide all necessary assistance to its citizens.

Highlighting the broader context, the prime minister emphasized Pakistan’s solidarity with the UAE and stressed the urgent need for restraint and de-escalation in the region to prevent further tensions.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi also conveyed its concern and wished the injured a swift recovery.

Khor Fakkan Port, situated on the Gulf of Oman, is a vital logistics hub that accommodates between 10 and 30 vessels daily. It offers shipping access without the need to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, underscoring its strategic importance in regional maritime trade.
