In Riyadh, Cristiano Ronaldo made a remarkable return to action by netting two goals, helping Al-Nassr achieve an impressive 5-2 triumph over Al-Najma on their home turf. This victory came after Ronaldo had been sidelined for a month due to a hamstring tendon injury sustained in late February.
The injury occurred during Al-Nassr’s 3-1 Saudi Pro League win against Al-Fayha, where Ronaldo appeared to be in discomfort and was substituted in the 81st minute. Consequently, the Portuguese forward missed two crucial league matches as well as Portugal’s international friendlies against Mexico and the United States.
Ronaldo’s two goals came in the second half, bringing his tally to 23 goals in as many league games this season. Notably, he converted a penalty in the 56th minute to restore Al-Nassr’s lead after Al-Najma had equalized. Later, both Ronaldo and teammate Sadio Mane scored their second goals to firmly secure the win.
Following the match, the 41-year-old star celebrated the victory on Instagram, sharing a series of photos from the game with the caption, “It’s good to be back. We move forward together!”
This win marked Al-Nassr’s 13th consecutive league victory, extending their lead at the top of the Saudi Pro League table to six points ahead of second-placed Al-Hilal, who are scheduled to face Al-Taawoun next.
