Blake Lively Responds to Court Ruling in Legal Battle with Justin Baldoni

Blake Lively has broken her silence following a significant court decision that dismissed multiple claims in her ongoing lawsuit against Justin Baldoni. In a detailed statement posted on social media, Lively described the ordeal as “unfathomably painful” but affirmed her determination to pursue justice in court.

She expressed gratitude that the core elements of her case will still be presented to a jury, despite the dismissal of several allegations. “I am thankful the Court’s ruling allows the heart of my case to be heard by a jury next month,” she stated, emphasizing her readiness to “finally tell my story in full at trial.”

Lively explained that pursuing the lawsuit was never her intention, but she felt compelled to act due to ongoing retaliation she faced for advocating privately and professionally for a safe working environment for herself and others.

In a broader context, she highlighted that the dispute transcends typical celebrity conflicts, drawing attention to what she termed “digital violence” and its tangible, harmful effects. “The physical pain caused by digital violence is very real. It constitutes abuse and is widespread,” she noted, stressing that such experiences impact women and children across various communities.

The legal battle originates from Lively’s 2024 lawsuit accusing her “It Ends With Us” co-star and director, Justin Baldoni, of fostering a hostile work environment. The suit also included allegations of sexual harassment and an alleged smear campaign. However, Judge Lewis Liman recently dismissed 10 out of 13 claims, including those related to harassment, defamation, and conspiracy.

Despite this setback, crucial allegations such as breach of contract and retaliation remain active and are expected to be the focus when the trial commences on May 18, 2024.
