The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Balochistan has issued a weather alert on Wednesday, signaling the onset of a fresh spell of heavy rainfall across the province. This weather system is expected to affect more than 30 districts, bringing with it thunderstorms and isolated hailstorms from today through April 4.

In a significant development, the PDMA has highlighted the risk of flash floods, particularly in local drainage systems and hilly streams across 18 districts. Areas such as Khuzdar, Kalat, Surab, Lasbela, Hub, Kech, Gwadar, Qilla Saifullah, Qilla Abdullah, Zhob, Harnai, Loralai, Kohlu, Awaran, Kharan, Mastung, Sherani, and Ziarat are forecasted to experience heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. Residents in these regions have been urged to remain vigilant and avoid unnecessary travel to minimize the risk of accidents and disruptions.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has also predicted rainfall in several other parts of the country, including districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, the federal territory of Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir starting from today. This widespread weather activity is part of a larger system affecting multiple provinces.

Notably, Sindh province is also expected to witness rain, wind, thunderstorms, and isolated hailstorms from April 2 to April 4. Districts such as Karachi, Thatta, Badin, Hyderabad, and Sukkur are included in this forecast. Authorities across these regions are likely preparing for the potential impacts of this weather, emphasizing the importance of public safety and preparedness during this period of unsettled weather.
