Jamie Lee Curtis recently reflected on nearly fifty years in the entertainment industry with a heartfelt Instagram post celebrating her career milestone. The 67-year-old Oscar-winning actress shared a side-by-side image on March 31, contrasting her early days as a young performer with her current status as a respected Hollywood figure.

One photo featured Curtis at approximately 19 years old, portraying a waitress in a 1977 episode of the television series Columbo, one of her first acting roles. The other image showed her present-day self, dressed in a sleek black outfit, wearing glasses, and sporting her signature short blonde hair.

In her caption, Curtis revealed, “Next year, I will have been an actress for 50 years. I never intended to become an actor; I thought I’d be a police officer. I was sharing stories on set about my early work as an unnamed waitress on a Columbo episode when I was a contract player at Universal Pictures.”

She continued, “Now, I am a producer, HBIC, a co-star alongside Nicole Kidman, and a collaborator on projects like Scarpetta with Prime Video, Now Screaming, Blumhouse, Comet Pictures, and Blossom Films.”

Notably, Curtis emphasized her approach to her career, stating, “There was no worrying about the future. It was simply taking each job as it came, being grateful for every opportunity, and exercising a lot of patience.”

Since her debut in the late 1970s, Curtis has established a diverse and acclaimed filmography, including memorable roles in Trading Places, A Fish Called Wanda, True Lies, Freaky Friday, and Knives Out. In 2023, she earned her first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once, further cementing her legacy in Hollywood.
