PCB Permits Sikandar Raza to Meet Family Amid PSL Security Rules

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has granted permission for Lahore Qalandars all-rounder Sikandar Raza to meet his family at the team hotel during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), despite stringent security measures imposed on players.

Raza, a Pakistan-born cricketer representing Zimbabwe internationally, is currently playing for Lahore Qalandars in the tournament. Due to his demanding international commitments, he seldom has the chance to spend quality time with his family.

In a significant development, the all-rounder expressed his appreciation to the PCB management for facilitating this special arrangement, allowing him a rare family reunion amid the PSL schedule.

Meanwhile, earlier concerns arose when Raza and Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi were scrutinized for allegedly breaching security protocols. Police officials reported that the players had met unauthorized individuals at the team hotel, leading to Afridi being fined Rs1 million and warned to prevent any recurrence of such incidents.

This PSL season marks Raza’s fourth participation in the league since his debut in 2019. Over the years, he has played for various teams and consistently delivered strong performances.

Notably, Raza was part of the Quetta Gladiators squad that triumphed over Peshawar Zalmi in 2019. He later played a pivotal role in Lahore Qalandars’ championship victories in 2023 and 2025, where they defeated Multan Sultans in the finals.

As the current tournament progresses, Raza remains focused on contributing significantly to the Qalandars’ campaign, aiming to maintain his impactful presence on the field.
