Johnny Depp has returned to the public eye, this time linked to a project shrouded in secrecy. The actor was recently seen shooting scenes in Maidstone, a town located in Kent, South East England, where a local store was transformed into a filming location, attracting the curiosity of residents.

Depp’s presence on set in such an unassuming location sparked immediate speculation about the nature of the project. he is involved in a horror film, potentially set to premiere on Netflix around October of this year. Although no official announcements have been made, the timing and nature of these rumors have heightened interest in Depp’s reemergence in the film industry.

This development is significant, as it marks a notable shift for Depp, who has been relatively quiet in terms of major acting roles recently. His active participation in this production indicates a deliberate effort to stage a comeback, with a horror genre project representing a fresh direction for the actor.

Meanwhile, Depp is also attached to another upcoming film, Ti West’s Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol, expected to release later this year. This adds to the impression that Depp is gradually rebuilding his career by taking on multiple roles.

His most recent on-screen appearance was in 2023 with Jeanne du Barry, and in 2024, he expanded his creative pursuits by directing and producing Modì, Three Days on the Wing of Madness. However, it is these latest projects that are capturing the most attention, as Depp seems to be entering a new phase in his career, carefully selecting roles one at a time.

While details about the Netflix horror film remain limited, Depp’s return to filming and embracing new characters signals that his comeback is well underway, moving beyond mere speculation.
