The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has concluded disciplinary proceedings concerning multiple violations of Naseem Shah’s Central Contract and the PCB’s Social Media Guidelines. This action follows a show cause notice issued to the fast bowler on 27th March 2026, which detailed the alleged breaches and requested a formal response from him.
After receiving and reviewing Naseem Shah’s reply, a three-member Disciplinary Committee conducted a personal hearing on 30th March 2025. The committee thoroughly examined the evidence and submissions presented during this session to determine the appropriate course of action.
In a significant development, the committee acknowledged the unconditional apology offered by Naseem Shah but ultimately found him guilty of violating several clauses of his Central Contract. Consequently, he has been fined a substantial amount of PKR 2 crores. Additionally, it was revealed that Naseem has terminated his social media adviser, who will now be blacklisted by the PCB, preventing any future association with players under the board’s jurisdiction.
The PCB emphasized its ongoing commitment to maintaining professional standards, enforcing contractual responsibilities, and preserving the integrity of cricket in Pakistan. This disciplinary measure reflects the board’s strict stance on upholding the code of conduct expected from its players both on and off the field.
