Javeria Saud Apologizes to Yumna Zaidi Over Eid Show Controversy

Karachi: Renowned Pakistani actress and television host Javeria Saud has formally apologized to fellow actress Yumna Zaidi following a controversy sparked during a special Eid broadcast. The incident occurred when a segment on Javeria’s show featured childhood photos of celebrities, during which an incorrect image was shown under Zaidi’s name, accompanied by remarks perceived as age-shaming.

Viewers quickly criticized the segment for its inaccuracy and insensitive comments. Yumna Zaidi responded calmly on Instagram, clarifying that the photo was not hers and highlighting that its use spread false information. Her dignified response earned widespread admiration, while Javeria Saud faced intense social media backlash.

In a significant development, Javeria Saud expressed regret over the incident. She apologized to Yumna Zaidi and anyone else offended, attributing the mistake to a team oversight. Javeria explained that the image was taken from social media without proper verification and insisted she never intended to disrespect Zaidi or mock her age. She further stated that her comments were misunderstood and reaffirmed her respect for Zaidi’s professional accomplishments.

Earlier in the week, actresses Maya Ali and Hania Aamir publicly supported Yumna Zaidi following the controversy. The dispute originated when Javeria Saud mistakenly aired a childhood photo, claiming it was Zaidi’s, and joked that some actors had been working “since the stone ages” before gaining recognition. Zaidi promptly corrected the record on social media, urging for accurate verification before broadcasting such content.

Meanwhile, Maya Ali addressed the broader issue on Instagram, condemning the tendency within the industry to publicly undermine colleagues. This episode has sparked a wider conversation about respect and professionalism among celebrities in the entertainment sector.
