Heavy Rains Cause Flooding in Nowshera, KP Weather Turns Cold

Persistent heavy rains have severely impacted daily life across various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with Nowshera experiencing significant flooding. Water has entered homes overnight, and streets have been submerged due to overflowing streams and blocked drains, creating hazardous conditions for residents.

In Peshawar, intermittent showers have led to a marked drop in temperatures, with forecasts predicting the mercury to fall to 22°C. The Meteorological Department has warned of continued rainfall accompanied by possible hailstorms across most of the province’s plains, while light snowfall is expected in the higher altitude districts.

Meanwhile, Lower Dir and neighboring areas are also facing heavy downpours, causing rising water levels in local streams and drains, which increases the threat of flooding. The cold weather has intensified in these regions as well.

In response to these weather conditions, Islamabad authorities have issued a traffic advisory cautioning motorists about slippery roads and potential delays. Drivers are advised to use fog lights during low visibility, reduce speed, and maintain proper lane discipline. Motorcyclists have been specifically urged to ride carefully in the left lane. To ensure commuter safety, traffic police personnel have been deployed on major routes to provide assistance.
