Heavy rains have started impacting several regions of Pakistan, with persistent downpours recorded in cities across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a warning, anticipating continued rainfall and snowfall in various parts of the country over the next few days.

In a tragic incident late at night in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the roof of a house gave way under the weight of accumulated rainwater, leading to the deaths of three children and injuring two others. Local officials are actively engaged in providing assistance and relief to the affected families.

Alongside the heavy rains, the NDMA forecasts thunderstorms and showers in multiple provinces, including Balochistan, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Meanwhile, snowfall is expected to cover the higher elevations and mountainous regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, intensifying the challenging weather conditions.

Cloudy skies are also predicted for major cities such as Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Qila Saifullah, Pishin, and Chaman. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and prepared for sudden weather changes.

Citizens are advised to monitor weather updates closely, take necessary safety measures, and avoid non-essential travel, particularly in areas vulnerable to flooding and landslides caused by the heavy rains and snowfall. Emergency response teams remain on alert to support those impacted by these adverse weather events.
