Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in an extensive telephone discussion with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, during which he strongly denounced the ongoing Israeli strikes targeting Iran. The conversation, lasting over an hour, centered on the escalating regional situation and Pakistan’s stance of solidarity with the Iranian people.

Sharif expressed grave concern regarding the recent attacks on civilian infrastructure, offering condolences for the lives lost. He also extended prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured and displaced by the violence. The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for Iran during this difficult period.

Notably, Sharif thanked President Pezeshkian for recognizing Islamabad’s efforts to foster peace and stability across the region. He also updated the Iranian leader on Pakistan’s active diplomatic measures aimed at reducing tensions. This included Islamabad’s engagement with the United States, Gulf states, and other Islamic nations to encourage dialogue and prevent further escalation.

In a significant development, the call highlighted Pakistan’s expanding diplomatic role amid rising regional conflicts. The country continues to position itself as a mediator, advocating for peaceful resolutions through dialogue and coordinated international cooperation.
