Qatar Airways Boosts Pakistan Flights; PIA Resumes London Service in 2026

Qatar Airways has announced an expansion of its flight operations to Pakistan and other destinations following recent improvements in air travel conditions. Over the next 15 days, the airline plans to operate dozens of additional flights, aiming to accommodate growing passenger demand.

Notably, flights arriving from the Middle East to Pakistan are experiencing high occupancy, while outbound flights from Pakistan are seeing comparatively fewer passengers. This trend highlights a surge in inbound travel to the country.

Meanwhile, the domestic aviation sector has faced challenges, with over 2,400 flights canceled nationwide in the past 28 days. Among these cancellations, 11 occurred at Allama Iqbal International Airport, reflecting ongoing operational disruptions.

In a significant development, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is preparing to resume direct flights to London after a six-year hiatus. Starting March 29, 2026, PIA will operate four weekly nonstop flights from Islamabad and Lahore to London Heathrow Airport, Terminal 4. This move is expected to provide passengers with faster and more convenient travel options between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

A PIA spokesperson confirmed the airline’s plans to increase its UK flight frequency, emphasizing the importance of restoring direct connectivity. The resumption of these services marks a major step in enhancing international travel links for Pakistani travelers.
