Netflix Increases US Subscription Prices Across All Plans

Netflix has implemented a price hike for its subscription plans in the United States, affecting both new and current subscribers in the upcoming weeks. New users will encounter the updated rates immediately from March 26, while existing customers will receive notifications ahead of the changes based on their billing schedules.

The ad-supported plan has risen from $7.99 to $8.99 per month. Meanwhile, ad-free options have seen a $2 increase, with the standard tier now costing $19.99 and the premium tier reaching $26.99 monthly. Additionally, the fees for adding extra members outside the primary household have also increased, priced at $7.99 for ad-supported plans and $9.99 for other subscription levels.

With a global subscriber base exceeding 325 million, this adjustment will impact millions, many of whom will notice the higher charges reflected in their next billing cycle. Netflix attributes the price increase to ongoing investments in new content and expanding its portfolio, which includes films, series, and live events.

In recent times, the streaming giant has added significant titles and is intensifying its focus on live programming, such as sports and special events, aiming to strengthen its position amid growing competition. For subscribers, the immediate consequence is clear: an increase in monthly fees across nearly all plans.
