India is set to finish its 2026/27 home cricket season with a high-profile five-Test series against Australia, commencing on January 21, 2027, in Nagpur. This announcement was made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, highlighting the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy as the season’s climax.
The series will then progress to Chennai, Guwahati, Ranchi, and Ahmedabad, offering fans across the country the chance to witness top-tier Test cricket. This comes after India’s disappointing 2-0 Test series defeat at home to South Africa last year, with the team currently ranked sixth in the World Test Championship standings, while Australia leads the table.
India’s home season will kick off with a white-ball series against the West Indies starting September 27, 2026. This includes three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and five Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Following that, Sri Lanka will tour India in December for a white-ball series comprising three ODIs and three T20Is.
In early January, Zimbabwe will visit India for a three-match 50-over series before the arrival of Australia for the Test matches. The detailed schedule for India’s 2026/27 home fixtures is as follows:
