Armed Robbery Targets Medical Students’ Bus in Karachi’s Bahadurabad

In a brazen daylight robbery, students of Jinnah Medical and Dental College (JMDC) were held at gunpoint by armed assailants in Karachi’s Bahadurabad area. The incident took place around 8:15 am when the college bus arrived to pick up students as part of its regular schedule.

Two unidentified men carrying weapons boarded the bus and forcibly took valuables from both male and female students. Items stolen included mobile phones, gold jewelry, and other personal belongings. After the robbery, the suspects fled the scene before police arrived.

Authorities reached the location shortly after receiving reports and began collecting evidence to aid their investigation. One student affected by the incident noted that the attackers seemed to have scouted the bus beforehand, as it typically lacked security measures and its doors were often left open. The assailants reportedly forced their way inside and systematically took valuables at gunpoint.

This event is not isolated; similar robberies have occurred in the same vicinity, including an incident reported on the second day of Eid under the New Town police station’s jurisdiction.

In a significant development, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar responded swiftly by ordering stringent action against those responsible for the area’s security lapses. He emphasized that police officials accountable for maintaining safety would face severe disciplinary measures, including the suspension and demotion of the station house officer (SHO).
