    Karachi Experiences Early Morning Rain Amid Western Disturbance

    Karachi experienced rainfall early Thursday morning as a Western disturbance influenced the city’s weather. Dark clouds gathered, bringing rain and strong winds to various neighborhoods across the metropolis.

    Rainfall, ranging from light to heavy, was reported in multiple areas including Metroville, SITE Area, Nazimabad, and their surrounding localities. Other parts of the city such as I.I. Chundrigar Road, Saddar, Shahrah-e-Faisal, the Old City Area, Tower, Clifton Sea View, Lyari, Scheme 33, Safoora Chowrangi, NIPA, and Hassan Square also received showers.

    The Pakistan Meteorological Department noted that the western wind system has started to affect weather patterns nationwide. Rain has already been observed in parts of Chaman and other regions of Balochistan. The Met Office has forecast continued rain accompanied by strong winds in Karachi and across Sindh from today until March 29.

    Additionally, precipitation is expected to persist in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir until March 30. Authorities have issued warnings about potential flash flooding in various areas due to heavy downpours.

    Morning temperatures recorded in major cities include Islamabad at 16°C, Lahore at 20°C, Karachi at 25°C, Peshawar at 17°C, Quetta at 11°C, Gilgit at 10°C, Murree at 6°C, and Muzaffarabad at 12°C.

    Meanwhile, the weather forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir predicts partly cloudy skies with chances of rain and wind thunderstorms in Srinagar, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula. Jammu and Leh are expected to experience partly cloudy conditions. Morning temperatures in these areas were recorded as Srinagar 7°C, Jammu 17°C, Leh -3°C, Pulwama, Anantnag, and Baramula 6°C, and Shopian 5°C.
