In Matiari city, Sindh, a female police constable and her accomplice were taken into custody on Wednesday for their suspected involvement in the murder of a male police officer. Initially believed to be a suicide, the case took a turn after further investigation revealed it was a homicide.

The officer, Fayyaz Ali, was reportedly shot with his own service rifle by the constable, Noor Bano. She claimed that Ali had subjected her to prolonged abuse. Authorities also uncovered evidence of a personal relationship between the two through an examination of the victim’s mobile phone.

The case was formally registered at New Saeedabad Police Station following a complaint lodged by the victim’s uncle. Noor Bano and her alleged accomplice, Ajab Gul, appeared before the Civil Judge, who ordered their remand in police custody for three days to facilitate further investigation.

In a related development, officials confirmed that a terrorist killed during a Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) operation in Karachi’s Shah Latif Town on February 17 was a senior commander of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). The raid, based on intelligence from previously arrested militants, resulted in the deaths of four high-value terrorists. While three were identified immediately, the fourth was later confirmed as Sohail Baloch, also known as “Gurk,” leader of the BLA’s Al-Fatah Squad.
