Train services throughout various regions of Pakistan have experienced significant disruptions following the Tezgam train accident in Lodhran. Railway authorities report delays ranging from 15 to 20 hours in both arrivals and departures.
In a notable development, four trains departing from Karachi to different inland destinations have been cancelled. These include the Sukkur Express heading to Sukkur, the Zakaria Express bound for Multan, as well as the Pakistan Business Express and Millat Express, both destined for Lala Musa. Passengers affected by these cancellations will be accommodated on alternative services to minimize inconvenience.
Regarding the revised schedule, the Green Line to Lahore is now set to depart nine hours late at 7:00 AM on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Khyber Mail to Peshawar will leave seven hours behind schedule at 5:30 AM. The Tezgam train itself is expected to depart approximately three and a half hours late at 9:30 PM, and the Fareed Express will be delayed by ten and a half hours, departing at 6:00 AM on Thursday.
However, several trains including the Rehman Baba Express, Pakistan Express, Karakoram Express, Allama Iqbal Express, Mehran Express, and Karachi Express are scheduled to depart on time despite the disruptions.
In a significant move, Pakistan Railways has announced full refunds for passengers impacted by cancellations or substantial delays, aiming to address the inconvenience caused by this incident.
