The provincial government of Balochistan has announced an extension in the closure of all educational institutions, both public and private, until the 31st of March. This decision was formally communicated through an official notification released on Monday, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by the education sector in the region. Despite the prolonged closure, certain critical activities within the education system will proceed without interruption. The enrolment campaign, which is crucial for registering new students across the province, will continue as scheduled. Additionally, the digital census of schools, an initiative designed to update and maintain accurate records of educational facilities, will also carry on. Furthermore, examinations that were already planned will be conducted the existing timetable, ensuring minimal disruption to academic progress.
Shahid Rind, who serves as the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, elaborated on the rationale behind this extension. He explained that the decision aligns with the federal government’s directives and reflects a cautious approach in response to the prevailing situation. Rind emphasized that the government is closely monitoring developments and will devise a comprehensive future strategy once the current conditions are thoroughly assessed.
