Jazz and Zong Accelerate 5G Network Expansion Across Pakistan’s Major Cities

Jazz and Zong have officially commenced the rollout of their 5G services across Pakistan, marking a pivotal advancement in the country’s telecommunications landscape. This development represents a major leap forward in delivering next-generation mobile connectivity to millions of users, promising faster internet speeds and more reliable network performance. The introduction of 5G technology is expected to transform digital experiences for consumers and businesses alike.

In the initial phase of deployment, Jazz has activated 5G services at approximately 180 sites, strategically covering the federal capital Islamabad along with all four provincial capitals: Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta. The network expansion also extends to other significant urban centers such as Rawalpindi, Multan, and Faisalabad. Alongside the 5G launch, Jazz is concurrently investing in the enhancement and expansion of its nationwide 4G infrastructure to ensure improved speed and quality of service for its users across Pakistan.

This aggressive network upgrade follows the recent spectrum auction, where Jazz secured multiple frequency bands including 700 MHz, 2300 MHz, 2600 MHz, and 3500 MHz. This diverse spectrum portfolio positions Jazz uniquely as the only operator in Pakistan with access to all critical spectrum layers, enabling it to offer a robust and comprehensive 5G service. The availability of these bands is crucial for delivering wide coverage and high-capacity networks that can support the growing demand for data-intensive applications.

Meanwhile, Zong has also accelerated its 5G deployment, announcing the commercial launch of services in over 16 cities across the country. The company has ambitious plans to install more than 1,000 5G sites by the year 2026, aiming to significantly broaden the reach of high-speed mobile internet. Zong’s 5G trials have demonstrated impressive speeds exceeding 1.4 Gbps, underscoring the transformative potential of this technology in enhancing user experience.

The introduction of 5G networks is expected to revolutionize various sectors by enabling ultra-fast internet connectivity, which will facilitate smoother online gaming, seamless ultra-high-definition video streaming, and the expansion of digital services. Both Jazz and Zong officials have emphasized that 5G technology will be a critical driver of Pakistan’s industrial growth and economic development. With networks increasingly powered by artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, consumers can anticipate smarter, more efficient, and highly responsive telecommunications services in the near future.
