Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has firmly stated that Pakistan will adopt a zero-tolerance stance against any acts of violence triggered by events unfolding in other countries. Speaking during a significant gathering in Rawalpindi, the Field Marshal made it clear that such disturbances, especially those inspired by incidents beyond Pakistan’s borders, will not be allowed to disrupt the nation’s peace and stability.

The meeting took place on Thursday, where Field Marshal Munir engaged with prominent ulema from the Ahl-e-Tasheeh community. The discussion centered on critical issues related to national security and the influential role religious scholars play in fostering societal harmony. The Field Marshal underscored the importance of ulema as key agents in promoting unity, tolerance, and national cohesion, particularly in the face of misinformation campaigns and sectarian narratives that threaten to divide the country.

During the dialogue, Field Marshal Munir highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing Operation Ghazab lil Haq, emphasizing the country’s unwavering commitment to preventing the use of Afghan territory as a base for terrorist activities against Pakistan. He reiterated the military’s resolve to dismantle terrorist networks and their infrastructure wherever they operate, relying on precise, intelligence-driven operations to safeguard the nation’s security.

Furthermore, the Field Marshal called upon the Afghan Taliban to take concrete steps to ensure that Afghan soil is not exploited for launching attacks against Pakistan. He stressed that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts continue to focus on regional de-escalation and peace-building, aiming to reduce tensions and foster stability across neighboring countries.

In addition to security concerns, Field Marshal Munir emphasized the vital role of ulema in countering extremism and preventing the manipulation of religious sentiments that could incite violence within Pakistan. He made it unequivocally clear that any violence arising from incidents in other countries will be met with strict action, as maintaining internal peace remains a top priority for the state.

The ulema present at the meeting voiced their strong condemnation of violence carried out in the name of religion and expressed their sincere desire for peace and stability throughout Pakistan. They pledged their full support to the country’s law enforcement agencies in their efforts to uphold law and order, underscoring the collective responsibility to protect the nation from divisive forces.
