The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has officially announced a significant increase in the quarterly stipend provided under its flagship Benazir Kafaalat Programme. This adjustment raises the amount from Rs13,500 to Rs14,500, effective immediately from the current quarter. The announcement was made by BISP Chairperson Rubina Khalid through a dedicated video message aimed at informing all beneficiaries about the new stipend amount.
In her message, Rubina Khalid emphasized the importance of beneficiaries verifying that they receive the full updated amount of Rs14,500 during their stipend collection. She highlighted that this increase is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to support vulnerable families and improve their financial stability amid rising living costs. The Benazir Kafaalat Programme, which targets low-income households, plays a crucial role in providing social safety nets to millions across Pakistan.
To ensure transparency and protect the rights of beneficiaries, BISP has also outlined a clear procedure for reporting any discrepancies in stipend payments. If any beneficiary notices that they have received less than the stipulated Rs14,500, they are encouraged to promptly lodge a formal complaint. This can be done by visiting the nearest BISP tehsil office, where officials are available to assist with the process.
At the tehsil office, beneficiaries should approach the assistant director or another responsible official to request a complaint form specifically designed for issues related to deduction or misappropriation of funds. The complainant will need to provide essential details such as their full name, Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) number, mobile phone number, the location where the payment was received, and a clear description of the alleged deduction. This information is critical for initiating a thorough investigation into the matter.
Once a complaint is registered, BISP authorities will conduct a detailed inquiry to verify the claim. If the complaint is found to be valid, the concerned bank will be instructed to take strict legal action against the agent responsible for any unauthorized deductions. Furthermore, the deducted amount will be reimbursed to the beneficiary after the completion of the investigation and legal proceedings. This mechanism aims to safeguard beneficiaries from exploitation and ensure they receive the full financial support they are entitled to.
For additional support or queries, beneficiaries can also reach out to the BISP helpline by dialing 0800-26477. Officials have advised all applicants to bring their original CNIC and registered mobile number when visiting the tehsil office to facilitate smooth processing. In cases where beneficiaries face difficulties filling out the complaint form themselves, the staff at the office are available to provide necessary assistance.
This recent increase in the Benazir Kafaalat stipend reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing social welfare programs and addressing the economic challenges faced by marginalized communities. By improving the stipend amount and strengthening complaint resolution processes, BISP continues to play a vital role in uplifting underprivileged families across Pakistan.
