Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has issued a stern warning following recent unprovoked firing by Afghan Taliban forces across multiple locations along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Expressing deep frustration over the escalating hostilities, Asif emphasized that Pakistan’s tolerance has reached its breaking point, signaling that the situation is now on the brink of open warfare.
Addressing the issue with resolute language, the minister highlighted the resilience and determination of Pakistan’s armed forces in countering what he described as aggression backed by India through the Taliban regime. He underscored that Pakistan’s military is not a foreign entity but a neighbor intimately familiar with the region’s dynamics and limits. In a series of pointed remarks, Khawaja Asif accused the Taliban, post-NATO withdrawal, of transforming Afghanistan into a stronghold influenced heavily by Indian interests.
