Balochistan CM Confirms Return of Pakistani Nationals from Conflict-Stricken Iran

QUETTA: In response to the escalating military tensions in Iran, Pakistani nationals residing in the neighboring country have started making their way back home, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti announced on Monday. The return journey is primarily taking place via land routes as air travel in the region has been severely disrupted due to ongoing conflict.

Chief Minister Bugti highlighted that the situation in Iran has deteriorated sharply following a series of coordinated strikes by the United States and Israel. These attacks have not only intensified regional instability but have also led to significant casualties, including the reported death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. The resulting chaos has prompted many Pakistanis living in Iran to seek safe passage back to their homeland.

To facilitate this urgent repatriation, immigration authorities at various border checkpoints in Balochistan have been working tirelessly around the clock. The provincial government has taken proactive steps to streamline and enhance the efficiency of border transportation services. Bugti assured that all necessary measures are being implemented to ensure the process remains orderly and secure for returning citizens.

“The government has issued clear directives to the administrations of border districts to provide comprehensive support to those coming back,” the Chief Minister stated. He emphasized that every possible facility, including medical assistance and logistical support, will be made available to ease the transition for the returnees. So far, more than 70 Pakistani nationals have successfully crossed back into Pakistan, with numbers expected to rise as the situation in Iran continues to worsen.

It is important to note that the strikes, dubbed Operation “Epic Fury,” have sparked widespread concern across the international community. The conflict has disrupted vital air routes and oil trade, further complicating the geopolitical landscape of the Middle East. Despite the gravity of the situation, the Trump administration has maintained a notably low profile, refraining from public statements or clarifications regarding the operation’s objectives and implications.

As the crisis unfolds, Pakistan remains vigilant in safeguarding its citizens abroad and is closely monitoring developments to respond swiftly to any emerging challenges. The government’s coordinated efforts at the border reflect a commitment to protect its people during this turbulent period, while diplomatic channels continue to assess the broader impact of the conflict on regional stability.
